The Swiss Cooperation Office Belarus of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) was opened in 2001 aiming at midterm humanitarian involvement in Belarus. Starting from 1 June, 2007 the Swiss Cooperation Office Belarus and the Swiss Consulate General work as the Office of the Embassy of Switzerland, Minsk.

The Cooperation Office plays a central role in the management of Swiss Humanitarian Aid programme in Belarus. The total budget of the Swiss Cooperation Office Belarus in 2009 amounts to 2.3 million US dollars.

The staff of the Cooperation Office consists of a Swiss employee (Country Director) and 9 local program officers, administrative, secretariat and logistics personnel. When necessary, the Cooperation Office involves both international and local experts in the Humanitarian Aid programme implementation.

The Cooperation Office implements projects directly and coordinates activities under the SDC Humanitarian Aid programme in Belarus with the relevant authorities and other local partners, as well as implementing partners and other donors.
