Welcome to the Swiss Cooperation Office
in Bosnia and Herzegovina!

Switzerland has supported Bosnia and Herzegovina’s transition through bilateral cooperation projects and international programmes since 1996. The Swiss Cooperation Office in Sarajevo is responsible for coordinating these efforts. It is run jointly by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), part of the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs (DFA), and the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) which forms part of the Federal Department for Economic Affairs (DFE).

Swiss Development Cooperation in Bosnia and Herzegovina aims to support the ongoing transition and European integration process through contributing to improvments in:

  • Political stability, security and functioning democratic structures and processes;
  • Private sector based economic development and employment generation;
  • Functioning public sector and improved service delivery for all BiH citizens.

The Swiss Development Programme in Bosnia and Herzegovina is currently focusing its support on four main domains:

Special attention is given to Gender and the Good governance as transversal issues.
