THE GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT ALL CATEGORIES OF VISA<>

 

Switzerland issues the Shengen visa in the following cases and priority order, if Switzerland is:

  • a country of main destination;
  • a main purpose of the trip;
  • a country, where a duration of the trip is the longest;
  • a first country of entry

The Shengen visa allows you to enter the Shengen zone and stay there the maximum amount of time (not longer than 90 days a half of year).

 

The Swiss Embassy in Tashkent city is responsible for issuing the entry visa into the territory of Switzerland and Principality of Liechtenstein for residents of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

 

The Embassy reserves the right to ask the applicants to come personally or to be interviewed not depending on whether he/she travelled to Switzerland and/or Principality of Liechtenstein before.

 

All residents of Kyrgyzstan can apply for arranging visa to the Swiss Consular Agency in Bishkek. But the documents are processed in Tashkent and the Embassy, in case of necessity, has a right to ask for personal existence in Tashkent.

 

If you send the full package of documents by mail, then the payment receipt of the consular fee in Bishkek should be enclosed into the file to be sent to Tashkent. You have to pay mailing service fee Bishkek–Tashkent–Bishkek (you should pay all expenses, related to mailing of documents to the Embassy and back. The Embassy doesn’t take any responsibility). Please, indicate your e-mail address when sending your documents so that we can inform you on the decision of issuing visa. It is necessary to envisage that issuing visa takes 10-14 working days after the documents applied.

 

The Consular charge is USD 81 in the notes issued in 1996 and above. We accept only clean accurate, not crumpled, without stamp and inscriptions notes + USD10 for mailing services. The payment of consular fee is a condition for processing of visa application. For members of official delegations visa is free of charge, but mailing services must be paid.

 

Visa for children:

from 1 until 6 years old - free of charge

from 7 until 12 years old - USD 45

 

from April 1, 2010, only new passports are accepted.

 

·       Period of documents’ consideration in Tashkent: usually 3 working days (after receiving the full package of documents and or/information). Please, note that it is a usual procedure, which may take longer time depending on the purpose of trip or internal consultative requirements and including time for mailing service and back to Bishkek. Please submit the documents 3-4 weeks in advance before the assumed trip.

 

·       Each application is considered on individual basis and there is no guarantee that visa will be issued. The Embassy does not undertake any responsibility for any costs in case of rejection for visa.

 

·       The main documents enclosed to the application should be in English or in any official languages of Switzerland (German, French, Italian) aimed on speeding up the the procedure of consideration.  

 

·       The Swiss Embassy reserves the right to require additional information or documents

 

·       In case of children under the age of 18 travelling with one of the parents or without them, it is necessary to enclose notarized permission of parent(s) with notarized copy translated into English or into one of the official languages of Switzerland.    

 

·       All foreign citizens (non-residents of Uzbekistan or Kyrgyzstan) living in Uzbekistan or Kyrgyzstan and applying for Shengen visa should show the permission to stay in Uzbekistan or Kyrgyzstan

 

·       In rare cases there may be a need for procedure of Shengen consultations. Be noted that in this case the applicant has to wait for minimum 10 days until this procedure is completed, and there is no objection for issuance of visa from country-participant of Shengen Agreement. 

 

·       There are many requests to issue multi-entry visa for Shengen zone. Please, note that multi-entry visa issued only for conscientious applicants and in a very strict order.

 

·       The countries of Shengen zone are: Austria, Belgium, Chech republic , Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Island, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovak, Spain and Sweden.

 

 

Short description of visa types:

 

  1. Tourist visa (category C)
    For applicants, travelling to
    Switzerland for vacation, holidays, staying in hotel, rent apartment or for those, who visits Switzerland for tour;

 

  1. Guest visa (category C)
    For applicants, wishing to visit relatives or friends (Swiss citizens, owners of foreign passports with permission to stay of types B or C.), staying in
    Switzerland;

 

  1. Business visa (category C)
    For applicants, wishing to meet with business partners;

 

  1. Official visa  (category C)

For applicants, travelling based on invitation of the United Nations and other international organizations;

 

  1. Student visa (category  C = staying maximum  90 days; category D = more than  90 days)
    For applicants, travelling for study;

 

  1. Working visa (category D)
    For applicants, leaving for job, under the contract;
