SDC promotes access to sustainable employment and income opportunities for vulnerable people in order to improve their economic living conditions and to contribute to a self-determined and decent living. Programmes are implemented in close partnership with local private sector and civil society organisations mainly focusing on developing of agriculture value chains, micro-and small enterprises. Special focus is given to women and youth.

WAC.jpg Sustainable development requires strong and viable national institutions. Through capacity building SDC is supporting both civil society and government institutions to ensure their viability and ability to be an indispensable technical arm-stretch of the different stakeholders involved in a sustainable development process in the oPt.

The main component of SDC's Humanitarian Aid programme in favour of the Palestinians is the provision of relief services to refugees living in the West Bank and Gaza, as well as in Jordan, Syria and Lebanon. In addition, SDC/HA is collaborating with different multilateral partners with a view to strengthening policy development and ensuring donor coordination.
