Water and Environment

Macedonia has an evident need for support in the area of environment, especially in the water sector and nature protection. As a continuation of the successful Swiss engagement so far in both areas and thanks to using the synergies with other bilateral and multilateral donors, this domain of intervention will enable Macedonia to make significant and acknowledged progress in meeting international standards and requirements. Also, it allows direct know-how transfer and intensive strengthening of the technical and managerial capacities of the Macedonian partners. Extended exchange with Swiss experts contributes to setting up sustainable systems for maintenance and operation of the new established or improved public services on a long run.

The programmes within this domain are divided into two sub-domains:

Water and Wastewater Management and Protection of Biodiversity.
