Focus areas of Swiss Cooperation
The current 5 year Swiss Cooperation Strategy (2007-11) identifies four priority areas of intervention

and two transversal themes

The Swiss funded activities are mostly concentrated in the Northern provinces of Nampula, Cabo Delagado and Niassa.

 With the new cooperation strategy Switzerland intends to

  • become highly focused on a few selected intervention areas, where Swiss cooperation has a comparative advantage and can make a difference;
  • fully engage in policy partnership, harmonisation and alignment;
  • be highly responsive to key government priorities;
  • show a commitment to support activities at the field level in order to explicitly link local context and reality to the policy dialogue at the macro level;
  • balance its approach by combining a growth, a service delivery and a governance component
