...with Donors and Government: To contribute to effective aid for peace

In accordance with the 10 Principles for Good International Engagement in Fragile States and Situations, the Accra Agenda for Action as well as the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness, Switzerland will contribute to the following outcomes so as to maximise the positive impact of the Swiss engagement, minimise possible unintentional harm and increase aid effectiveness:

  • Bi- and multilateral organisations jointly promote inclusive state building in a conflict sensitive way;
  • Strategic alliances between SDC and bi- and multilateral organisations are increased in accordance with the given mix of aid modalities, and
  • Bi-and multilateral organisations increase the effectiveness for inclusive development cooperation through harmonisation and alignment at all state levels.

... within the Swiss programme: To promote a Conflict Sensitive Programme Management approach

The Swiss programme in Nepal will be further implemented through a Conflict Sensitive Programme Management approach thereby contributing to the following outcomes:

  • Switzerland enhances through a geographic cluster approach inclusive and connected local development;
  • Projects within the Swiss programme work in a conflict sensitive way;
  • COOF strengthens synergies and cooperation with other Swiss programmes in South Asia as well as on the global level, with a clear focus on selected topics of regional relevance (e.g. CSPM; migration; state building; decentralization; inclusion, and environment), and
  • As a learning organisation, COOF manages its knowledge and adapts its practices on the basis of lessons learned and experiences gained mainly within the Swiss programme.
