The Swiss Cooperation Office Serbia was opened in 1991 in Belgrade. It is jointly run by SDC and SECO as part of the Embassy of Switzerland to Serbia and it plays a central role in the management of Switzerland’s cooperation with Serbia. It is the interface between strategic planning and practical implementation, and between partners in Switzerland and Serbia. The Cooperation Office is staffed with two Swiss experts (Country Director – Beatrice Meyer; Deputy Country Director – Olivier Bovet) and 11 local programme, administrative and logistics staff (Organizational Chart).
Objectives and Implementation
The Cooperation Office coordinates the activities of SDC and SECO in Serbia with the relevant central and local authorities and partners, as well as implementing agents and other donors. The main roles and tasks of the Swiss Cooperation Office Serbia are:
- Controlling, monitoring and reporting, especially on project and programme environment as well as on current developments within domains and cross-cutting themes, in Serbia;
- Country alignment, policy dialogue, donor coordination;
- Representation and public relations;
- Support and services for projects implemented on behalf of SDC and SECO, other Swiss offices, international experts and visiting delegations.
