SDC supports reading tour of the famous Swiss author Melinda Nađ Abonji
The Swiss writer Melinda Nađ Abonji will be touring Serbia reading from her awarded book "Pigeons Fly Away" (Original German title “Tauben fliegen auf”). Melinda Nađ Abonji was born in the town of Bečej in Vojvodina in 1968. Her family belongs to the Hungarian minority. At the age of five, she emigrated with her parents to Switzerland, where she grew up. Her strongly biographical novel “Tauben fliegen auf” received the German and Swiss Book Prizes in 2010.
On August 25th, the book will be published in Serbian language by Laguna under the title “Golubije srce”.
The reading tour is supported by SDC and Pro Helvetia and will be organized in the following cities:
- Senta, 28. August, Creative House, 19h (in Hungarian language);
- Bečej, 29. August, Public Library, 19h (in Hungarian language);
- Novi Sad, 1. September, Cultural Centre, 19h (in Serbian language);
- Belgrade, 3. September, Goethe Institute, 19h (in German language, simultanous translation into Serbian language provided).
